But this book is awful! I very much encourage you to go and read it and then come back and discuss it with me, please. A wide range of reviews for this one. Trivia According to , director instructed Eileen Lamont to not communicate with Williams Lydia Lamont and to keep her distance from her, in order to replicate the lack of relationship between their characters. I hope you're as blown away as I was! The New York Times bestselling author of The Beach House, Jemima J, and Summer Secrets presents a novel about the pleasure and meaning of finding a home—and family—where you least expect them. I loved this book, this wasn't the kind of cheesy love story that I have accepted in past but it is a really mature and decent one, and I liked it. But perhaps the most glaring example of neglect and inaction may be this sad little railroad bridge over the Hackensack River in New Jersey.

Falling by Jane Green

Falling

Those books were fun and had twists and turns that kept you engaged. I really connected to the scene when Dominic tells her he loves her and suddenly the ex appears. Henry moves to take advantage of his situation and soon Daisy, despite her misgivings, finds herself becoming emotionally attached to him. Above all, I was angry at the apparent lack of effort to build a proper structure for the plot, which could have been entertaining enough otherwise. I do believe Jane Green is a spectacular storyteller. It's tangible evidence that they can really get something done.

Why I disliked this book: It is proving very difficult indeed to find a feelgood love story that is also decently written. Stop what you are reading and pick this up. A six year old runs around with no supervision and a 'caring' father goes looking for him hours later. They don't want to spend the money. Then, the whole different worlds thing: Emma versus Dom style. That one star should be a no star.

These all are tragedies waiting to happen. They become friends, and slowly much more, as Emma finds herself feeling at home in a way she never has before. The whereabouts of the kid changed from paragraph to paragraph. Green shows family cycles of dysfunction and how they can effortlessly continue if one doesn't consciously put forth the effort to stop the wheel. This story is about an English woman Emma Montague who is an ex-banker. An unreasonable amount of interior design lingo made me sigh a lot. It remains very dear and meaningful to me.

Anything can ruin a book, and in this case, the ending made me want to hurl it against a wall with as much force as I could muster. She was in her twenties and left banking to live happy and comforting life in the town of Westport. It all rings true emotionally; Daisy, suffering writer's block as well as an unfaithful husband is an easy mark for someone like Henry. Steve Kroft: And what kind of shape is it in? I really love Jane Green, but this was not my favorite. Steve Kroft: What has the resistance been? Yes, we have to do these things.

It's been ready for two years. Was never invested or hooked in any way. A fair amount of flashback is used to explain how Henry got the way he is, and it often seems more vivid than the present. I read it in 12 hours straight. Green's books, and this one is just. Steve Kroft: What does that mean? I don't want to put too much effort into this, because I honestly put too much effort into finishing the book. This book was a huge disappointment. Why infrastructure gets ignored We decided to start in Pittsburgh, which may have the most serious problem in the country. There was no chemistry at all between the main characters; the relationship was completely unbelievable and was some sort of instant love thing that did not ring true at all. Honestly, I expect better out of any author this day and age.
